SCI's Washington Office is headed by the Director of Wildlife Conservation and Governmental Affairs who is responsible for support to 5 of SCI's Committees:

  • Conservation
  • Governmental Affairs

  • Legal Task Force
The Department of Wildlife Conservation carries out the SCIF Conservation Mission combining traditional wildlife conservation techniques with new concepts of sustainable use and Community-based Wildlife Management while at the same time incorporating work with the chapters on conservation activities and national and international bodies that are conservation oriented or deal with conservation issues.

The Department of Governmental Affairs monitors all Congressional activity and all proposed rules from federal agencies that affect the interests of SCI's members including suggesting new legislation and regulations, provide testimony or formal comments on existing bills and proposed rules, and lobbies to assure the right to hunt is protected and enhanced.

The Washington office also houses the administrative staff who provide support functions and the SCI Ethics Liaison Officer who works with the Ethics and Code of Conduce Committee to insure the SCI's Hunter's Code of Ethics is upheld by each member.
